King and Spadina Intersection Closed for Repairs After Downed Wires

The intersection of King Street and Spadina Avenue is closed for the rest of the week after a garbage truck with its loader raised damaged overhead wires on Tuesday morning.

Affected Streets:

- King Street is closed between Brant and Charlotte Streets.

- Spadina Avenue is shut down from Front to Adelaide Streets.

TTC Service Impact:

Streetcar routes 504 King, 508 Lake Shore, and 510 Spadina are diverted. Commuters can use Queen or Bathurst Streets for alternatives, and Wheel-Trans is available for door-to-door service.

Repair Efforts:

TTC engineers are working nonstop to assess and repair the damage, which involves complex rail and overhead systems. New wires will be installed and tested for safe operations.

Reopening Timeline:

The intersection is expected to reopen by Friday night, with crews working around the clock to potentially restore access sooner.
