Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, accompanied by Housing Minister Sean Fraser and Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow, unveiled additional housing initiatives during a series of pre-budget announcements across Canada.
The federal government's plan includes a $15-billion injection into its apartment construction loan program, targeting the creation of a minimum of 30,000 new apartments. Additionally, they will introduce the Canada Builds partnership in collaboration with provinces and territories, aiming to further expand rental housing options. Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland is set to present the latest budget on April 16th.
